Project Manager


Reports To: Chief of Staff

Type: Full-Time | Non Exempt

Supervision: This position may supervise 1-2 project coordinators/interns

Position Summary

The Project Manager supports the planning and execution of community-focused programs at Centro Cultural Mexicano. This role manages assigned projects and day-to-day program activities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring tasks are completed on time and aligned with the organization’s mission.

Working closely with leadership the Project Manager manages program logistics, maintains project timelines, and tracks progress toward established goals. Responsibilities include supporting budget tracking, organizing program materials, and assisting with data collection and reporting for grants and program evaluation. While contributing ideas for program development/improvement, this role primarily focuses on executing established plans and processes.

This position requires someone who is proactive, takes initiative, and is able to hit the ground running. The Project Manager should be organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accountability in a dynamic, fast-moving environment. An interest in understanding the challenges and systemic barriers impacting Latino communities is important for success in this role. The ideal candidate is bilingual (Spanish/English), detail-oriented, and brings experience in project coordination, community outreach, or program support. A strong commitment to equity and community impact is essential.

Key Responsibilities


Program Implementation & Management

  • Manage the execution of assigned community-focused programs, including overseeing program logistics, schedules, and day-to-day operations to ensure successful delivery.

  • Implement program contracts by coordinating resources, managing timelines, ordering program supplies as needed, and proactively addressing operational needs and challenges in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attend meetings with funders, partners, and other stakeholders as needed to support program implementation and reporting.

  • Work with independent contractors and vendors as needed to support program activities, including contracting, onboarding, and payment processing in coordination with leadership.

  • Track program progress, monitor key activities and deliverables, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and grant requirements.

  • Support ongoing program improvements by gathering feedback, tracking outcomes, and identifying opportunities to strengthen program effectiveness.

Budget & Reporting

  • In collaboration with leadership, support program budget management by tracking expenditures, monitoring spending against approved budgets, and ensuring responsible use of resources.

  • Maintain accurate budget tracking records and support ongoing financial documentation for program activities.

  • Prepare and compile reports for funders, leadership, and stakeholders detailing program performance, outcomes, and financial stewardship.

Community & Engagement & Outreach

  • Support leadership in building and maintaining relationships with community members, partners, and local organizations.

  • Represent CCM at community events, coalition meetings, and collaborative initiatives as needed.

  • Support outreach and communication efforts to promote programs, including developing and sharing materials in both Spanish and English. 

  • Assist in implementing culturally relevant engagement strategies to increase community participation and awareness of programs.

Team Management & Coordination

  • Supervise and support assigned project coordinators and/or interns to ensure high-quality service delivery while fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment grounded in cultural pride, equity, and respect.

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, education, social work, cultural studies, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in project management, community engagement, or nonprofit program support. 

  • Experience supporting the implementation of community-based programs, including tracking activities and contributing to program evaluation.

  • Experience with budgeting support and reporting for programs or grants.

Skills & Competencies

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal) highly preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow through on tasks while maintaining accuracy and accountability.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort supporting presentations and community-facing communications.

  • Strong familiarity with Latino communities, including their strengths, challenges, and systemic barriers.

  • Resourceful and proactive problem-solver with a solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools such as Asana or similar platforms.

Compensation & Benefits 

  • Salary Range $29 - $33 hourly depending on experience.
